Campanelli Breaks Ground on Cape Cod Lumber Project October 10, 2012
Braintree, Ma – Campanelli Construction, a construction management company and a division of Campanelli, recently broke ground on Cape Cod Lumber, Inc.’s new retail warehouse, and office building in Abington, Massachusetts. Campanelli Construction is the exclusive construction manager on this project. The facility will serve as Cape Cod Lumber’s company headquarters and operations center and will contain a convenient drive-through lumber yard serving building professionals. Additionally, the site will include one exterior storage building totaling 41,000 square feet.
“Campanelli Construction has close ties to the South Shore community and is proud to be working with a successful business that serves this region” stated Jeff DeMarco, President of Campanelli Construction. Campanelli Construction has teamed with RKB Architects located in Braintree and engineers, BARNES building & management group, inc. located in Weymouth, MA. Peter Brown, Director of Business Development at Campanelli developed this new relationship with Cape Cod Lumber.
Sam Hurvitz, father of current owner Harvey Hurvitz began working at the Cape Cod Wrecking and Salvage Company in 1949. Hurvitz purchased the business in 1958 which later became the Cape Cod Lumber Company, Inc. “This new facility will keep Cape Cod Lumber in Abington, create significant efficiencies and enable us to create a new standard for customer service” stated Hurvitz.
The 136,000 square foot facility, located at 225 Groveland Street, is only minutes from its current facility on Route 18. A completion date is set for late January, 2013.
