BARNES buildings will provide the following personnel to manage and construct your building project in the most professional and expedient manner to meet its commitments to you and the challenging schedule presented.

Marty Barnes President

Sales, Estimating, Operations and General Management:  Marty started Barnes Buildings in 1996 and remains owner and President of Barnes Buildings.  He is responsible for the general oversight and management of all projects from initial design and value engineering input through completion.

Education: Wentworth institute:  Graduate 1973 Architectural Engineering Technology. Certified 20-year Roof Replacement Warranty by MBCI / Metallic Building Company.  Metallic Buildings erector certification.  Metal Buildings Institute Certification.

Construction History:  Since 1974 has been involved in the design and general construction of commercial and industrial buildings and particularly specializing in the use of pre-engineered steel structures.  His job responsibilities have ranged from structural steel and metal building detailer following graduation from Wentworth, to Project Management, Site Supervisor, Steel Erection Foreman, Sales Manager and Customer Service Coordinator for metal building manufacturer(s), Vice President of a General Contracting firm.

Tim Allison Vice President of Project Management

Project Management of Engineered Building Systems:  Tim is directly involved with the management of our construction projects. He is responsible for procurement and scheduling of the engineered building system and all materials required for the project. He is intimately involved with all details, coordination and interaction with our supplier(s) through the construction process.  Tim is also an OSHA 40 certified safety officer and has been responsible for implementation of our safety program.

Education: Associate in Applied Science Graduate Wentworth Institute & 1980 BS Civil Engineering Technology Southeastern Massachusetts University.  OSHA 40 Hour Train the Trainer #500 certified.  Has attended and completed all training requirements for NCI-Metallic Buildings national builders. Metal Buildings Institute Certification.

Construction History:  Since 1980 in all project management positions.  Employed with Barnes Buildings from 1996 to present, and has served as Vice President of Project Management as of 2005.

Tony Barnes Vice President of Operations

Sales, Estimating and Management of Steel Fabrication Facility:  Tony operates all aspects of our steel fabrication facility in Hanover, MA where we fabricate structural steel and miscellaneous iron projects.  Much of this work is either interrelated to our pre-engineered projects and/or stand alone projects.  Tony may also be involved in pre-engineered and wall panel projects as well.

Education: Wentworth Institute Construction Management.  Has attended and completed all training requirements for NCI-Metallic Buildings national builders. Metal Buildings Institute Certification

Construction History:  Has worked in the field since 1996 at the age of 16, as an ironworker, metal building assembler, welder and has progressed through the company as a foreman, project manager, estimator, sales, etc.  Has been operating as General Manager of the steel fabrication facility since 2006.

Anthony Poliatti Project Manager

Assists in wide variety of tasks and helps to coordinate and oversee all details of project management including interaction with our building supplier and other vendors during the construction process.

Education: Wentworth Institute: Graduate 2011 Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering.  Successfully completed the Metal Building Institute’s comprehensive national erector training program and is certified as an MBI Quality Assured Craftsman.

Construction History: Prior to joining BARNES buildings Anthony worked for the Town of Milton, the City of Boston and a private firm on the South Shore assisting them in their engineering departments.

Lynne Barnes Controller

Lynne directs all finance, accounting and reporting activities and is responsible for the development, analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information. She maintains the company’s system of accounts and fiscal records and prepares financial analysis of all areas of operation in order to appraise operating results and effectiveness of the organization and for the guidance of management.

Lynne is also the primary contact for all employee benefits, property, comp and liability insurances.

Education: Northeastern University – Business Administration

Construction History: Lynne came on board in 2009 and has worked diligently to integrate our financial, HR and IT functions to further enhance and serve our construction efforts.

Prior to joining BARNES Lynne was in the banking industry for 15 years and held the position of Senior Executive V.P. where she was in charge of all regional sales and operations for one of the nations’ largest retail lenders.

 

Katie Vecchione Administrative Assistant

Provides support in all areas of general administration and assists in all functions of office management.

Education: Quincy College – Business Administration

Construction History: Katie has been a valuable member of the BARNES team since 2008.
