Thank you for the professional way your company handled this project it was not easy and quite aggravating at times but Barnes did exactly what they said they would. Chris MerrickDear Mr. Barnes,
I want to take this opportunity to commend, Barnes Buildings, Tim Allison, all you field personnel, and yourself for an exemplary job at the Pingree School Athletic building. The project had a long list of challenges, including architectural details, coordination with the athletic equipment and building systems, and one of the coldest winters we had experienced in a long time.
Blending the pre-engineered building structure, wall systems, and roof systems into other areas of the building with areas utilizing conventional air-barrier construction was not a simple feat. I am very appreciative for the time and effort your company put in to working out these details. I am sure you agree it really shows in the finished product.
The architectural barn look on the exterior with a state of the art athletic facility on the inside was the ultimate goal of the project. Taking advantage of the economies offered by the pre-engineered systems (roofing, insulation, and insulated panels), long span capability of the structure; as well as Barnes Building’s expertise to blend in other conventionally constructed components was key to this success.
C.E. Floyd look forward to working with you and your company again, and would highly recommend Barnes Buildings to any who are considering doing business with your company.
Again a job Very Well Done!

To Whom It May Concern:
Barnes Buildings did exceptional work engineering, delivering and installing the pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) that is the structure of the new Falmouth Ice Arena. The designs were thorough and accurate, the quality of the materials outstanding and the installation team expert. Not only was the work done to the highest level, but the staff at Barnes Buildings was responsive and easy to work with during the entire process.
The construction schedule for the new Falmouth Ice Arena was very demanding. Barnes was willing and able to work under strict time constraints. The design team worked efficiently and carefully to specify the PEMB. Delivery was on time, and erection of the structure happened according to schedule, despite a long stretch of difficult winter weather conditions. The workmen were able to flawlessly and quickly execute construction, the job site was kept neat and well- organized, and there was minimal waste. Marty has clearly developed an A-team to build his buildings.
A unique aspect of the Falmouth Ice Area is its extraordinary energy efficiency, as evidenced by a $244,000 rebate from Cape Light Compact, and a recent New England Energy Efficiency Council Business Leaders Award. To achieve real energy efficiency with a pre-engineered metal building, critical features need to be specified and installed properly. Marty Barnes was invaluable to the decision-making process, both providing practical advice and insights and responding quickly to requests for pricing. Without the help of Marty, Tim Allison and the skill of his team, the energy efficiency measures that were planned would not have been effectively executed. From the air-tight building envelope to the roof and wall insulation, the Barnes Buildings team made sure implementation was done right.
In addition, the new Falmouth Ice Arena supports almost 1 megawatt of solar photovoltaic panels on the roof and parking lot. This solar installation was implemented after the PEMB was specified, but Barnes worked with Falmouth Youth Hockey to make sure that the building could structurally support the weight of the PV panels. Marty and his team were responsive, professional and helpful throughout the construction process.
If you are building with metal, FYHL highly recommends you work with Marty and his team at Barnes Buildings.

Shawn R. MalloyHello Marty,
Just wanted to drop a quick note of compliment. We were out there together on the 21st when Building D materials were still being delivered. I was there a couple times briefly during the week. Today (essentially one week later) I witness all major steel erected with infill members being fit-out. The Barnes crews are performing admirably. Aside from your team’s steel erection abilities and pace, I also note that they are always safe, polite and respectable. We’re fortunate to have your crews on board – clearly a ‘pro’ operation.
It has been a pleasure working with Barnes Buildings, honestly. From yourself, Tim and the office/business side to Anthony and the iron/misc metals piece of work to the erectors and all field personal – your team was terrific, polite, accommodating and always professional.

Marty Barnes listened to our needs and worked closely with our architects and general contractor to deliver 50,000 sq. feet of buildings on time and as promised. Further, and most importantly Barnes Buildings has stood behind their product and workmanship 100%.
One of our buildings suffered damage as result of a recent coastal storm. A crew from Barnes Buildings was on site performing repairs within 24 hours. Thank you Marty for the great service.

David Carlino, Jr.Since the beginning of 1988, North Atlantic Energy Service Corp. at the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant has had numerous projects completed by the Barnes Buildings and Management Group. These projects ranged from a 20,000 square foot Maintenance Facility, including a high bay shop, to several concrete deck mezzanines and a 1700 square foot Radiological Storage Facility.
Barnes Buildings faced many challenges, working under many programs here at the nuclear facility that are not required in the common construction field. The safety and quality construction practices used were proven by completion of these projects without incident. Their commitment to “do it right the first time on time” led to on schedule completions.
Barnes Buildings and Management Group is a reputable company that sets forth high standards for safety, quality, schedules, and cost control. Barnes Buildings is on North Atlantic’s approved vendor list and shall be considered for all applicable future projects at the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant.

Timothy RiellyPayton Construction recently completed the new Campanelli Stadium, home of the Brockton Rox minor league baseball team in Brockton, MA. Just after commencing site work, we were forced to reconsider our budget and design build direction. I knew that Barnes Buildings, in partnership with their building supplier, Metallic Building Company, would be the answer. I have worked with Marty Barnes for over 10 years on various projects requiring steel systems or pre-engineered buildings.
What I didn’t tell Marty after contacting him, was that I needed a building on site in 90 days, and oh by the way, it would be the most unique building layout that they had ever worked on. The 3-story 90,000 SF building angled around the baseball diamond and included a 16,000 SF Conference Center.
My recommendation for using Barnes Buildings for this project was extremely important both personally and professionally to me, as I had been a resident of the City of Brockton as well as the senior estimator for Payton Construction’s design build team. This job had to be done right and on time.
Marty Barnes and the folks from Metallic Buildings responded immediately to meet our extremely challenging schedule for engineering, delivery and erection for the baseball stadium. Within one week of their proposal, on November 16, 2001 Payton and Gould Evans Architects were on a flight to Metallic’s headquarters in Houston to go through all of the details. The response and professionalism from the design team was outstanding. With a few days a design had been finalized that accommodated the budget and maintained the originally planned character of the project. Phased steel deliveries were to begin the last week of January and Barnes Buildings was to have their crews begin erecting the structure. The first baseball game was scheduled for May 31st!
It went just as planned! Proof to the success of the stadium and its impact on the community have been highlighted in articles by the Boston Globe, NY Times, Sports Illustrated, The Enterprise, Patriot Ledger, etc. In their first year the Brockton Rox sold the second greatest number of tickets in the Northern Baseball League and their stadium is recognized as one of the finest minor league baseball facilities in the country!
Thank you for your assistance and we look forward to other successful ventures with Barnes Buildings and Metallic in the future.

In addition, workmanship was exemplary and coordination and cooperation with other trades was outstanding.

Norris A Walecka Jr.I wanted to say thank you and your crew for an outstanding job in repairing out building recently! Unfortunately, we did not meet Barnes Buildings initially when we went to construction on this project. We thought we would save some money by buying the building system directly from a building supplier and subcontracting the steel erection to a local source. This as you are aware turned out to be an absolute disaster for us both financially and in time lost, as the supplier gave us absolutely no support, supplied is with incorrect details for a building constructed in this part of the country and the erector we hired was incapable of constructing the materials properly or in a timely manner. The building leaked badly through the roof and at the base of the walls, had air and light infiltration throughout and in general extremely poor workmanship throughout. The money we thought we could save and much more was invested in the repair work.
We appreciate your thorough evaluation, guidance and the professional work supplied by your men to turn this building system around. For our next building project, we will be turning to Barnes Buildings immediately.

Arthur J. MarkosWe are about to hold the grand opening for The Shaw’s Center on February 20, 2003 and I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how pleased The Brockton 21st Century Corporation (owners of Campanelli Stadium and The Shaw’s Center) and the citizens of Brockton are with a terrific job you and your colleagues accomplished here.
Campanelli Stadium was completed under extraordinary tight time requirements. There was many doubters in February 2002 when the steel arrived that the Brockton ROX could take the field opening day, May 30 when the umpire said, “Play Ball.” Under similar constraints, construction of the conference center began in October. Miraculously, we received the occupancy permit on December 31, 2002.
During the past year, my colleagues and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work with you and your team, We are delighted that other Brockton businesses have already begun selecting Barnes Buildings for other projects. I cannot say enough about how please we are with your work. I look forward to many more projects in our city and the region.
